Miscellaneous notices

Pr. Hafsa El Bekri traveled to Sharm el-Sheikh on the occasion of COP 27 to represent the Université Euromed de Fès at this global gathering, which brought together approximately 200 countries, delegations, media, NGOs, businesses, observers, and researchers. The objective of this African COP was to place new actions to combat global warming and its impacts on the negotiation agenda.

Pr. Hafsa El Bekri also published a pre-COP op-ed titled "From Marrakech to Sharm El-Sheikh: Africa at the Center of the Climate Agenda," published by Challenge Magazine, in which she highlights, among other things, the role of the RIEMAS (Research Institute for European, Mediterranean and African Studies) Think Tank of the UEMF in studying the new narrative of climate action in Africa and for Africa.

As a reminder, the first African COP was held in Marrakech in 2016, after which the UEMF eco-campus received the COP 22 Label for its ecological assets and respect for environmental and sustainable development standards (lower energy consumption, integration of renewable energy technologies, maximum natural light, recycling, green spaces...).
