It is in the beautiful city of Barcelona that the Euromed University of Fez won this Monday, June 26, 2023, the second prize for the African Initiative of the year, for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); prize awarded as part of the “Triple E Awards” competition, by the Accreditation Council for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU), based in Germany.
In front of an audience of more than 110 world-renowned universities, present in the “La Salle Barcelona Campus” where this important international event is organized, the Euromed University of Fez, already announced among the 5 African finalists for this prize, s was awarded this award for its project “An Eco-campus in respect of various SDGs”.
The Triple E Awards (Entrepreneurship and Engagement Excellence Awards in Higher Education) are a global recognition of the efforts made by universities in favor of entrepreneurship and engagement in higher education. This is the first award to focus specifically on different dimensions of the third mission of universities. Implemented regionally, the Triple E Awards aim to drive change in universities and highlight their role in their communities and ecosystems. ACEEU is currently the only globally operating quality assurance body focused on recognizing engagement and entrepreneurship in higher education. It aims to pave the way for a new era for this sector by evaluating, supporting and boosting the potential of its establishments, on their path towards the excellence of the third mission.
In the same register, it should be remembered that the Euromed University of Fez was also distinguished this year in the international ranking “Times Higher Education Impact Rankings, 2023” by rising to second place nationally and first in the Fez-Meknes region. For SDG 4 in particular; “Quality education”, it is in the world TOP 200, appears on the national podium for 10 of the 17 SDGs and in first position for 4 of them.
