Euromed University of Fes opened the doors of its laboratories and language center to young middle school students from the province of Moulay Yacoub and their coaches. This was a preparation for the First Lego League Challenge, an international robotics competition for young people aged 9 to 16, organized by the FIRST Foundation (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) and Lego Education.
Each year, a new theme is chosen for the challenge, and the participating teams must build, program, and test a robot using Lego Mindstorms pieces to solve a series of missions on a game table. This year's theme focuses on energy efficiency. The missions are designed to encourage young people to explore fields such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) while developing skills in communication, problem-solving, and collaboration.
The target group won the regional and national competition and trials and will represent Morocco in the final phases, which will take place in the United States.
