Euromed University of Fes, in a consortium with the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises Fès-Taza, the company Alten Delivery Center Maroc, and the Fès-Meknès Regional Council, is developing a project for an innovative sustainable industrial zone oriented towards "Industry 4.0" called "Fez Smart Factory" on the University's site.
"Fez Smart Factory" is dedicated to smart and sustainable factories. This zone will also include an accelerator for Industry 4.0-oriented startups as well as a model 4.0 factory. This project addresses the needs for improving the competitiveness of the Moroccan industrial fabric by developing access to industrial land, strengthening links between the University and businesses, and promoting the development of Research & Development activities.
This project was selected by the Sustainable Industrial Zones Fund (FONZID) following a call for competition jointly launched by the Millennium Challenge Account Morocco / the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) and the Ministry of Industry, Investment, Trade, and the Green and Digital Economy, and a grant agreement was signed in May 2020.
In line with the requirements of MCA-Morocco / MCC, an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) according to International Finance Corporation standards is currently being carried out by the Phenixa office.
As part of the process for conducting this ESIA, we invite you to participate in a public consultation meeting on July 23, 2020, at 10:00 AM, which will present the project's progress and gather your opinions and comments to integrate them into the ESIA.
For health and safety reasons, this meeting will be held virtually on the ZOOM Pro platform. To participate in this meeting, we kindly ask you to connect via the following link :
