The EUROMED-ICESCO Chair "Arts, Societies and Civilizations" pays tribute to the Art of Photography in Morocco

Under the evocative title "Photography Today: What Perspective on Society?", a rich meeting was held on March 9, 2023, at the university's art gallery, initiated by the EUROMED-ICESCO Chair "Arts, Societies and Civilizations".

The participants in this meeting, professors Thami Benkirane, Fouad Brigui, and Abderrahman Tenkoul, highlighted through their presentations and in the exchange with students and teacher-researchers what constitutes the strength of photographic art in Morocco, namely: the search for detail and the mundane as places of expression for the underground visions that outline the invisible transformations our society is undergoing.

This event also represents an opportunity to reflect on the importance of our shared visual memory and to question a number of aspects related to the history, perspectives, and aspirations of this art.
