Miscellaneous announcements
Pr. Maha Gmira presented the vision of the UEMF and its deep commitment to achieving the SDGs and to extending the new Mediterranean Action Plan on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) to 2030 during the 9th Ministerial Conference “Environment for Europe”. This conference addressed two themes: "The green economy in a pan-European region: working on sustainable infrastructure" and "Applying the principles of the circular economy to sustainable tourism". A ministerial declaration was also adopted on this occasion.
Organized by the Republic of Cyprus with the support of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), this event was an opportunity to raise the agenda of the Mediterranean Strategy for Education for Service sustainable development, according to the guidelines of the UfM and the Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development (MSSD) (2016-2025) of the Barcelona Convention.
- Improve favorable conditions for the adequate implementation of the MSDS.
- Propose a set of joint programs/projects of an institutional/non-thematic nature.
- Highlight priority thematic issues for regional programs.
- Propose progress and monitoring indicators.
