Euromed University of Fez (UEMF) participates in the 2nd African Conference on health risk reduction

After its participation in the first African Conference on Health Risk Reduction, the UEMF is present at the second edition of this event organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohamed VI, from September 27 to 29 in Marrakech.
This large-scale international meeting, organized under the theme “Health in Africa: Water, environment and food security”, brought together several African and international officials, notably ministers, ambassadors, scientists and researchers, from more than 80 countries, coming from the four corners of the world to host a program spanning three days.
The President of Euromed University, Prof. Mostapha BOUSMINA, participated in the second panel dealing with the theme of “Food security in Africa and in the world: risk reduction strategies”.
During his intervention, Pr. BOUSMINA underlined the importance of promoting the economic wealth of our immense continent and of establishing a common policy, on a continental scale, within the framework of south-south collaboration in order to guarantee, not just global food security, but food sovereignty allowing the development of food production capacity based on scientific research, while respecting the social specificity of African countries and the diversity of its products.
Participants in this event aspire to the adoption of new strategies aimed at reducing health risks through improving prevention systems, changing consumption patterns and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
Plenary sessions, round tables, workshops, numerous themes, which revolved around several axes, were addressed during this meeting such as: "Natural disasters: Reduction and management of emergencies", "Food security in Africa and in the world: Risk reduction strategies", "Water, environment and food security: African projection 2063", "Risk reduction and the ecosystems of tomorrow: The African equation and South-South cooperation", "Health and environment: Air quality and global warming".
This second edition of the African Conference was also an opportunity for the Euromed University of Fez, in addition to its main objective, to present to participants and visitors the new components of the Health Center (Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dental Medicine , Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Nursing Sciences and Health Technologies, School of Biomedical Engineering and Biotechnology) as well as the other components of the University and their diversified training offers.
