UEMF welcomes world Olympic legend and four-time world champion Hicham El Gerrouj

Mr. Hicham EL GUERROUJ, the fastest man in the world over 1500m, best Moroccan athlete of all time, holder of several world records including 3 records which are still unmatched, quadruple world champion, double Olympic champion at the Olympics of Athens – 2004, is hosted today by the Euromed University of Fez (UEMF) in the company of the athlete Brahim Lahlafi, native of Fez, specialist in long-distance running and close friend of Hicham El Gerrouj.
The special guest of the UEMF, Mr. Hicham El Guerrouj gave a conference around his very inspiring journey for young people and which is littered with obstacles, uncertainties and challenges and an example of endurance, of self-sacrifice and extraordinary willpower. It was in a packed amphitheater and in the presence of several students, professors and managers that the Olympic champion expressed his joy and pride in sharing his experience with the students of the Euromed University of Fez.
This conference experienced moments charged with emotion following the broadcast of a report which summarizes the legendary journey of the athlete. These very moving images allowed the audience to relive the highlights of an exceptional career filled with difficulties, but also multiple successes, joy and attachment to the motherland.
During this conference, the middle distance legend spoke, with an open heart, about his source of inspiration and his great motivation which allowed him to overcome all difficulties and transform obstacles into springboards and bridges towards success. success. “Everything is possible when you believe in it and work hard to achieve your goal. Love of the country and our Great King, will and faith gave me the strength of the titans to face challenges and give the best of myself...” announced Mr. Hicham EL GUERROUJ in responding to one of the many questions asked by students.
Mr. EL GUERROUJ subsequently had a memorable exchange with the public who took this opportunity to question him, with great eagerness, about the highlights and events that most marked his champion's career.
