“Lessons from an earthquake” conference by Prof. Rachid Achachi

Conference cycle

The Al Haouz earthquake is featured in the first episode of this year's “Philosophy Wednesdays” through a conference entitled “Lessons from an earthquake: decryption and perspectives of the surge of solidarity” and hosted by Pr. Rachid Achachi .

As part of the conference cycle of the Euromed University of Fez, and following the earthquake that our country suffered on September 8, the first episode of the new cycle for the 2023/2024 academic year hosted by Pr. Rachid ACHACHI, columnist and consultant in geopolitics, took the theme of “Lessons from an earthquake: deciphering and perspectives of the surge of solidarity”.

In the presence of Pr. Mostapha BOUSMINA, president of the UEMF, and many other members of the administrative and teaching staff, Pr. Rachid ACHACHI presented himself, today, October 4, at the Euromed University of Fez to to decipher the aspects of the outpouring of solidarity which was organized throughout Moroccan territory. In his analysis, Professor Achachi based himself on the factors which underlie the intensity of our empathy in the face of a tragedy, covering the philosophical, sociological and psychological aspects of the thing. He also took the opportunity to explain to the audience how to politically and socially capitalize on a collective outpouring of empathy.

Like the conferences led by Professor Achachi, this meeting was an opportunity to once again share moments of intellectual exchange with the students and teacher-researchers present during this event.
