Euromed University of Fes had the honor of hosting H.E. Jörgen Karlsson, Ambassador of Sweden to Morocco, today. During this visit, Ambassador Karlsson met with the University President, Prof. Mostapha Bousmina, to discuss potential future collaborations. This meeting was marked by fruitful exchanges on topics of mutual interest.

Sweden, known for its strong diplomatic relations with almost all countries in the world, particularly the MENA region, seeks through this meeting to broaden opportunities for collaboration with Morocco. Having launched a study in 1997 on creating a platform for dialogue with the MENA region, the Swedish government aimed to further strengthen contacts and cooperation with Middle Eastern and North African countries, facilitate dialogues on issues of common interest, and contribute to the Euro-Mediterranean partnership.

Indeed, Euromed University of Fes is delighted by this opportunity for cooperation, particularly in the fields of research on global challenges such as climate change, immigration, intergenerational dialogue, as well as innovation and entrepreneurship. Placing a foundation based on seven pillars at the heart of our strategy, among which are dialogue and multiculturalism, these values are also shared by the Swedish Institute for Dialogue in the Middle East and North Africa. In 2023, the Institute conducted a participatory process aimed at exploring and co-creating knowledge on intergenerational dialogue, thereby demonstrating its potential to foster mutual understanding and cooperation across generations. This initiative resonates particularly with our commitment at Euromed University of Fes to strengthen exchanges and promote intercultural dialogue across all our research and development projects.
