The Euromed University of Fez and the Sorbonne Law School are organizing the Fez “Restructuring” Days on May 16 and 17, 2022.4. 

Given the resounding success of the first edition which brought together nearly 200 practitioners in May 2023, the Euromed University of Fez is once again organizing on its campus, in partnership with the Sorbonne School of Law, the “Restructuring Days of Fez » on May 16 and 17, 2024. This success can be explained in part by the difficult economic context which exposes many companies to financial difficulties and forces them to restructure to make their liabilities more bearable.

This unique and unprecedented conference on the African continent will see the participation this year of more than 250 business leaders, heads of large legal and financial institutions, lawyers, legal representatives, consular judges, specialized bankers from France and beyond. , around a hundred leaders of political and academic institutions from Morocco and sub-Saharan African countries who are interested in and practice the law of restructuring companies in difficulty, including two ministers and a university rector from the Central African Republic .

Under the aegis of Professor François-Xavier Lucas, expert in bankruptcy law and one of the key speakers at the Fez Restructuring Days, several panels of leading speakers will lead this training which will be an opportunity to take stock this year on several particularly important current issues such as the study of the subtleties of the regime for the declaration and verification of debts, which has become very sophisticated over time, but also the new developments in European and international bankruptcy law or the latest developments in security law and prevention law. Above all, it will be an opportunity to discuss the first files which allowed practitioners to implement the new restructuring measures within the framework of the classes of affected parties and to return to the baptism of fire that these measures experienced.  

Organized in partnership with the Association of Turnaround Professionals (ARE), the objective of these study days also remains to bring together again in Fez the main experts in restructuring law, thus promoting enriching exchanges beyond the Mediterranean borders.

These days consolidate an exemplary partnership of several years between the University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne and the Euromed University of Fez, within the framework of which the Sorbonne Law School offers a double Master's degree program in Civil Law. business, of a very high level, delivered jointly by the two universities. Access to this training is particularly demanding and selective; each class being made up of a third of students from France, a third of Moroccan students and a third of students from sub-Saharan African countries.

A compulsory internship in a law firm or in a company is planned in the course to allow students to acquire practical experience in a professional environment linked to business law.
