International Mobility: UEMF students at the University of Valencia in Spain

Congresses and conferences

As part of the academic mobility of students from Euromed University, a group of students from the two establishments, the Faculty of Pharmacy (FEP) and the School of Biomedical and Biotechnology Engineering (EIB), visited on July 11 and 12 at the Burgasot Campus of the University of Valencia, Spain, with the aim of participating in the Sixth Meeting of the Specialized Group in the Teaching and Dissemination of Microbiology, organized by the Spanish Society of Microbiology.

This conference is intended for students interested in microbiology, teacher-researchers concerned about scientific communication, as well as pre-university teachers curious about innovation. The UEMF participants engaged in the active teaching method of the Project Approach (APP) relating to research and awareness-raising around bacterial resistance to antibiotics.

During this meeting, the students presented the “UEMF-MicroMondeMaroc” (U3M) project, a citizen science and project-based learning project whose main objective is to raise awareness on the proper use of antibiotics, promote culture , scientific research among pupils and students, as well as participation in the discovery of new antimicrobial molecules.

This experience offered participants the chance to deepen their knowledge, enrich their knowledge and create links with other students from different backgrounds and cultures. They also had the opportunity to participate in leading scientific discussions and draw inspiration from the latest advances in microbiology, providing them with a unique perspective on the challenges in the field of bacterial resistance.

As a reminder, mobility at the Euromed University of Fez constitutes a key element of the academic career which is part of a broader set of 7 transversal pillars defining the Euromed profile. These pillars, which also include multiculturalism, multilingualism, the digital environment, entrepreneurship, social responsibility and sustainable development, are interconnected for a certain impact on the professional integration of the laureate and on their future career. Thus, each pillar reinforces and complements the others, creating a holistic educational experience for students.

This mobility was jointly coordinated by the Euromed University of Fez (Prof. Ismail MOUKADIRI, Prof. Salim BOUNOU, Prof. Samir AHID and Prof. Saïd EL KAZZOULI) and the University of Valencia-Spain (Prof. Sergi MAICAS, Prof. . Belén FOUZ RODRIGUEZ and Prof. Jesus ZUECO).
