Congresses and conferences
The Euromed University of Fez (UEMF) and the Law and Commerce Association co-organized a conference devoted to current themes in Business Law, under the theme: “ Franco-Moroccan perspectives on business law ”. This event, dedicated to contemporary legal issues, brought together internationally renowned experts from both sides of the Mediterranean.
The opening ceremony was marked by the interventions of Professor François-Xavier Lucas , Director of the delocalized sector at the UEMF of the Sorbonne Law School as well as Mr. Antoine Diesbecq , President of the Association Law & Commerce. Also present were Madame Carine Foeller Viallon , Consul General of France in Fez, and numerous jurists, lawyers and researchers. This inauguration highlighted the strength of Franco-Moroccan cooperation in business law.
Three round tables punctuated the discussions, providing rich and diverse perspectives:
- First Round Table:
“Franco-Moroccan perspectives on arbitration law” — Moderated by Maîtres Bruno Cressard, lawyer at the Rennes Bar and former President of the Order, and Me Laila Slassi , lawyer at the Paris Bar and Conseil legal in Casablanca, this round table made it possible to explore the differences and convergences between France and Morocco in arbitration practices. - Second Round Table:
"Contract law and the example of the distribution contract" — Pr. Julia Heinich , professor at the University of Burgundy, Me Jean-François Tessler , lawyer at the Paris bar, and Me Jamila Dahib, counsel legal in Casablanca and Dubai, addressed a comparative overview of contractual approaches in France and Morocco. - Third Round Table:
“Financing law and effectiveness of security over intangible assets” — Me Mustapha Mourahib, lawyer at the Paris bar and Prof. Augustin Aynès, professor at the University of Paris-Est Créteil (UPEC), analyzed the particularities of security rights over intangible assets in both countries.
The concluding remarks were provided by Professor Laurent Aynes , professor emeritus at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, who underlined the importance of this exchange to enrich reflection on business law between France and Morocco and discussed prospects for future cooperation.
The UEMF warmly thanks the speakers and participants for their commitment and expertise, which made this conference a true platform for dialogue and reflection. This success marks an important step in strengthening French-Moroccan academic and professional exchanges around Business Law issues.
