Launch of the Fez Smart Factory (FSF) project

The Euromed University of Fez (UEMF) and its partners, namely the Fès-Meknes Regional Council, the
Fès-Taza branch of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the company Alten Delivery Center-Maroc, have presented, at the Euromed University campus in Fez, the project for the “ Fez Smart Factory ” ( FSF ) industrial zone which will be developed on the UEMF campus.

With an investment of 104 million DH , this industrial zone will be co-financed largely by the Millennium Challenge Account-Morocco Agency (MCA-Morocco) via a contribution from the Sustainable Industrial Zones Fund (FONZID) to the tune of nearly 50 % of the project cost and the Fez-Meknes Region.

The objective of the UEMF and its partners is to develop a sustainable industrial zone to meet the needs for improving industrial productivity and environmental and social performance, by taking advantage of Industry 4.0 concepts.

The FSF project will be composed of spaces dedicated to technology transfer, engineering, innovation and research & development (R&D) and technological research (R&T) services, including an incubator, a startup accelerator, companies engineering and R&D and R&T entities. The zone will also include the first 4.0 model factory in Morocco and 93 industrial lots intended for smart factories .

Extending over an area of ​​11 Ha (property of the UEMF) , the FSF project will house a building dedicated to innovation services that can accommodate around 40 project leaders, 30 startups, 10 engineering companies, 5 R&D entities and R&T and around ten investors in the business center . Other components of the project include a conference room, an exhibition hall, a restaurant, a medical service, a one-stop shop, as well as a nursery.
