Delegating more effectively: a framework with four approaches

The concept of delegation is not always mastered and used properly by many managers. From an overworked manager trying to alleviate burnout to a president trying to take a vacation, many managers need to delegate more but avoid doing so. Transferring responsibilities to someone else often creates worry, friction, and/or unsatisfactory results. However, delegation is not optional.

However, trust alone between people is not enough for delegation to work. Leaders must also consider the level of trust in the processes and carefully tailor their approach.
