In an interview given to DoctiNews, a magazine intended for health professionals, Professor Samir AHID, Dean of the Euromed Faculty of Pharmacy at UEMF and President of the Moroccan Society of the Economy of Health Products (SMEPS) , highlights the importance of Health Technology Assessment (HTA), a process put in place by health authorities to examine the properties and impacts of health technologies on access and quality of care, highlighting its essential role in improving health systems.

“We can summarize and define health technology assessment (ETS), which the Anglo-Saxons call “Health Technology Assessment”, as a systematic evaluation process put in place by the health authorities of a country to examine the properties and impacts of health technologies on access and quality of care. Obviously, when we talk about health technologies, we are referring to health products such as drugs and medical devices, health services, procedures and programs. The objective is, of course, to inform health decision-makers about the value and effectiveness of these technologies to guide resource allocation and health policies. The aim is to maximize benefits for patients while ensuring efficient use of resources, which are often limited. » declared Prof. Ahid during his interview.
