Doctoral Thesis Defense in “Additive Manufacturing and Materials Science” by Mr. Patrick MUNYENSANGA
Despite the widespread use of metal implants in medical and orthopedic surgery, long-term in vivo application was limited due to implant degradation and bonding mismatch, as identified. The current thesis proposes addressing these limitations by enhancing implant interfacial surface, promoting faster bone regeneration and bioactivity, and improving biocorrosion resistance.
