The Euromed University of Fes (UEMF) had the honor of receiving His Excellency Mr. José Ulisses Correla e Silva, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cape Verde, this Friday, May 12, 2023. He was at the head of a very high-level delegation including numerous Ministers and officials from the Cape Verdean political, diplomatic, and academic spheres.
During the reception held in their honor, Prof. Mostapha BOUSMINA, President of UEMF, extended the warmest of welcomes to His Excellency and the accompanying delegation, while expressing his satisfaction with the excellent relations between Morocco and Cape Verde. The President then briefly presented the Euromed University of Fes, established on the initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God preserve and assist Him, and placed under His High Honorary Presidency. Its governance model, its pedagogical engineering, its research-innovation activities, as well as its various components were presented.
Subsequently, the delegation visited the University's facilities, notably its technological platforms and its research-innovation laboratories.
Taking the floor, His Excellency the Prime Minister of Cape Verde expressed his satisfaction with the excellent relations between his country and Morocco and conveyed, on behalf of the entire delegation, his joy at being in this eminent place of knowledge and coexistence. He also stated that he was impressed by the UEMF model, its achievements, and the excellence of its teaching and research activities.
A partnership agreement was signed on this occasion between the University of Cape Verde and the Euromed University of Fes, marking the beginning of a cooperation that both parties wish to be fruitful and lasting, as well as their mutual commitment to promptly promote joint initiatives. This aims to implement joint teaching and research programs in all areas of common interest and to foster the exchange of students and teacher-researchers.
At the end of the visit, Prof. Mostapha BOUSMINA offered the University of Cape Verde a high-tech 3D printer, designed and manufactured by one of the University's startups. The startup's engineers will soon travel to Cape Verde to install this machine and train the local teams. The same operation was carried out last week in Côte d'Ivoire.
