The EuroMed University of Fez, created within the framework of the Union for the Mediterranean, aims to be a university of excellence in higher education and scientific research and innovation in the Euro-Mediterranean area and at the International scale.
As a result, it makes scientific research its spearhead to establish its reputation in the areas of initial and continuing training; the dissemination of knowledge and the generation of new knowledge; the application of knowledge to develop solutions meeting the needs of populations through an advanced partnership with the socio-economic world at the local, national level, in the Euromed area and on an international scale; and contributing to the realization of such solutions into successful innovations generating wealth and prosperity of nations. To do this, the UEMF bases its recruitment and promotion policy for its teacher-researchers on criteria of research excellence. It provides its researchers with research and innovation infrastructures of international standards and encourages its professors by financing their first research project at the UEMF, and to seek other sources of funding by forging links with the socio-economic world. economic and industrial and by participating in national and international financing programs.

The University can also award research bonuses for the most deserving professor-researchers and in particular those who publish the results of their research work in prestigious international journals with a very high impact factor such as NATURE and SCIENCE. 

Thanks to this policy, the scientific production of UEMF teacher-researchers in journals indexed in SCOPUS and Web of Science is the most important at the national level in terms of number of publications per teacher-researcher and in terms of Impact Factor. journals used.
