international women's rights day: the UEMF puts positive discrimination at the heart of its concerns

For this international women's rights day, the Euromed University of Fez, in the person of Mr. President Prof. Mostapha Bousmina, welcomes the laudable efforts that the University is undertaking in this direction to ensure that all female students and employees a healthy environment where equality and kindness prevail.

Prof. Mostapha Bousmina took this opportunity to highlight the contribution and commitment of UEMF women to the progress of the university. Thanks to their ambition and dedication, they now occupy key positions that shape society: they are leaders, influential women and proactive.  

Driven by values ​​of respect for individuals, equal opportunities and social inclusion, the UEMF works concretely on the promotion of gender equality at several levels. In this sense, the University won the call for applications launched on March 8, 2021 by the AUF, with the support of UN Women, to be part of the international consortium of French-speaking universities on gender equality ( EFH). Today, this consortium of universities from various regions of the world works hand in hand and is committed to implementing collegial solutions and actions to advance equality between women and men on campus.

During this occasion, Pr. Mostapha Bousmina recalled the contribution of women in the development of sciences, and more particularly through the ICESCO Chair “Women in Sciences: AI and Futures”, directed by Pr. Maha GMIRA, Professor and expert in AI. In the same wake, Pr. Mostapha Bousmina announced the creation of a new chair for women in architecture, which will be domiciled at the UEMF and whose management will be entrusted to Pr. Iman Benkirane, architect, doctor in urban planning, professor -researcher in urban design, landscape and land use planning and dean of the Euromed School of Architecture, Design and Urban Planning (EMADU), an establishment of the EuroMed University of Fez.
