Fathallah Sijilmassi has obtained several decorations:

Former ambassador and ex-secretary general of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM)

Doctor in International Economics and Graduate of the Grenoble Institute of Political Studies, Fathallah Sijilmassi, born August 21, 1966 in Rabat (Morocco) is an economist and a former career Moroccan diplomat.

He is currently founding President of Positive Agenda Advisory, a strategy and development consulting company. He is also a senior advisor and/or administrator to economic, financial and academic institutions.

During his career in public service (1992-2019), he was notably Ambassador of Morocco to the European Union (2003-2004) and in France (2004-2009), Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Development of Investments (2009-2012) and Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean (2012-2018).

Throughout his career, Fathallah Sijilmassi has led numerous negotiations of international economic agreements and managed the implementation of several investment and development projects.

In 2019, he published a book “The Future of Europe is in the South” co-published by two Think Tanks (CEPS - Brussels and EMEA-Barcelona). This work received the French-speaking economic book prize in 2020.

He is married and the father of two boys.
