The General Meeting (GM)

The General Assembly (GA) is the highest sovereign body of UEMF. It is chaired by the Chancellor, who is appointed by His Majesty The King, and meets at least once a year and as often as necessary to approve UEMF's activities and budget, to decide on any actions concerning the university's assets, to decide whether to initiate legal proceedings, or to renew, when applicable, the terms of the members of the Orientation, Supervision and Development Council (COSD), also known as the Board of Directors.

The General Assembly may also convene in an extraordinary session (EGM) to address urgent and highly important matters, such as: i) amending and modifying the Statutes, ii) implementing new strategic directions, or iii) if necessary, the dissolution of the Foundation.

The Chancellor's term is four years and may be renewed by the Board of Directors. In the event of death, incapacity to perform their duties, or when the Orientation, Oversight, and Development Council decides to appoint a new Chancellor, this proposal must be submitted for the approval of His Majesty The King, Honorary President of the Euromed University of Fez.
The Chancellor is responsible for:
to preside over meetings of the Ordinary and Extraordinary General Assembly and the Steering, Supervisory and Development Council;
convene the general assembly and the COSD and set the agendas for their meetings upon the proposal of the University President.

The Board of Directors

The Strategic Guidance, Oversight and Development Council, also known as the Board of Directors, is responsible for:

Set the overall strategic direction for the University.

To ensure the proper functioning and development of the University; to examine and approve the development plan for the University presented by its President;

Review and approve the budget prepared by the University President; finalize the University's annual budget and financial statements;

Approve the status of the University's teaching and research staff, as well as that of the national and foreign administrative and technical personnel;

Appoint ad-hoc committees, in particular a compensation committee to rule on the President's salary;

Ensure the execution of the budget and assign the Administrative and Financial Director (treasurer of the foundation) or their interim the responsibility of co-signature.

To study and propose to the General Meeting the allocation of the results;

Approve the establishment of institutes, units, and centers for teaching and/or research and define their mission;

Decide on the establishment of the University's satellite campuses;

Establish internal regulations governing its own operations.

Composition of the COSD

The COSD must consist of at least 8 members appointed by a decision of the Ordinary General Assembly, under the conditions set forth in its Internal Regulations. It is chaired by the Chancellor.

Three seats on the COSD are assigned automatically and on a permanent basis:

To the representative of the ministerial department in charge of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Executive Training;

To the ministerial department in charge of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation;

To the ministerial department in charge of the Economy and Finance.
