A Fruitful Collaboration between the Euromed University of Fes and the Hassan II Academy of Science and Technology
The Euromed University of Fes (UEMF), in partnership with the Hassan II Academy of Science and Technology, organized a high-level seminar dedicated to "Emerging Processes for Low-Carbon Hydrogen Production". This event is part of UEMF's commitment to promoting research and innovation in the field of renewable energies and sustainable technologies, in line with Morocco's major orientations for energy transition.
The seminar was led by two eminent specialists in the field:
• Prof. Philippe Tanguy, Strategy Director of the HTEC Group, Associate Professor at Polytechnique Montréal and Associate Member of the Hassan II Academy of Science and Technology,
• Prof. Nadia Yousfi, Corresponding Member of the Hassan II Academy of Science and Technology.
In a stimulating and interactive atmosphere, students, researchers, and faculty from the University were able to exchange with the speakers on the scientific, technological, and economic challenges related to low-carbon hydrogen production. The discussions notably focused on recent advances in production processes, as well as the challenges related to the storage, transport, and valorization of this clean energy.
This seminar also highlighted the promising prospects for hydrogen development in Morocco, considered a strategic lever to strengthen the country's energy sovereignty and support its transition towards a green, decarbonized economy.
Through this type of initiative, UEMF reaffirms its commitment to fostering dialogue between academic research and industrial stakeholders, and to training a new generation of talent capable of addressing the energy challenges of the future.
