UEMF establishes a chair on the alliance of civilizations by UNAOC

During the press conference organized by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Mr. Nasser Bourita, and the United Nations High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC), Mr. Miguel Angel Moratinos, marking the end of the 9th United Nations Alliance of Civilizations World Forum held in Fez, Mr. Moratinos stated that UNAOC will establish a chair on the Alliance of Civilizations at the Université Euromed de Fès.

This chair was proposed by the president of UEMF, Prof. Mostapha Bousmina, during Mr. Moratinos's visit to the University, where he was accompanied by high-level personalities to attend the session of recommendations formulated by young people concerning the alliance of civilizations. Indeed, UEMF hosted 300 young people from 98 countries on its eco-campus from November 21 to 23.

After three days of exchange, debate, and reflection on intercultural and interfaith dialogue, living together, peace, and the approach to adopt in the fight against hate speech and xenophobia, the young participants of the 9th United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) World Forum presented their final recommendations to the United Nations for a more tolerant, just, and inclusive world.

During this recommendation session, the young people exchanged, in several panels, with Mr. Miguel Angel Moratinos, as well as with other invited personalities, notably Mr. Adama Dieng, Former Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on the Prevention of Genocide, Mr. Viacheslav Fetisov, Legendary Ice Hockey Champion, Russia, Mr. Christian Lali Kake Karembeu, Professional Football Player, France, Mr. Gilles Proux, Mayor of La Courneuve, France, and the great film director, Mr. Amos Gitai.
