The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Josep Borrell, is visiting the Euromed University of Fes

High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, visited Euromed University of Fes for his second tour of the eco-campus. Welcomed by the University President, Prof. Mostapha Bousmina, and by UEMF students, Mr. Josep Borrell was accompanied by an EU delegation and by Ms. Patricia Llombart Cussac, EU Ambassador to Morocco. This second visit by Mr. Borrell to UEMF demonstrates his commitment to maintaining the UEMF-EU partnership and also to meeting young people and exchanging with them directly. He subsequently led a conference on Europe's Strategic Responsibility, particularly within the current geopolitical context.

Students from all disciplines, particularly those from the Euromed Institute of Legal and Political Sciences, took a keen interest in the topic of this conference. The exchange focused on Morocco-EU cooperation as well as on current international issues such as the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and on the challenges facing the Euro-Mediterranean region.

This meeting concluded with a visit to the University's "Research-Innovation" platform and incubator. Mr. Borrell indeed expressed his admiration and encouragement for the efforts made to provide students/researchers with High-Tech equipment, enabling them to participate in energizing the region and setting up innovative projects.
