On January 16, 2025, at 09:30 AM, the campus of the Université Euromed de Fès (UEMF) will host the launch ceremony for the activities of the Fez Smart Factory. This event will mark the official kick-off of this innovative ecosystem, under the theme "What support is needed for the emergence of a smart, innovative industry in Morocco?". On this occasion, the involved partners and stakeholders will unveil their ambitions to support the transformation of the Moroccan industrial fabric through Industry 4.0 technologies.
Driven by a consortium bringing together UEMF, the Fès-Meknès Regional Council, the regional CGEM, and Alten Delivery Center, with the support of strategic partners such as the Ministry of Industry, UNIDO, and the Digital Development Agency, this project benefits from overall funding of 111.3 million DH, a significant portion of which comes from the Sustainable Industrial Zones Fund (FONZID). With modern infrastructure on a 6.6-hectare site, the project will integrate innovative services such as a 4.0 incubator and accelerator, as well as a pilot training factory.
Fez Smart Factory aims to support project holders and startups in creating cutting-edge industrial units and to transform existing businesses into smart factories. Over the next two decades, this ecosystem aspires to generate 200 startups, modernize 275 industrial units, and become a major catalyst for Moroccan industry while training thousands of talents in new technologies.
