Admission to the Paris Bar of students from Sorbonne–Euromed Maroc
05 December 2025

The Sorbonne Law School, relocated to the Université Euromed de Fès, can boast a remarkable success in the French bar exam, the results of which were published on Monday, December 1, 2025. Five students from this program have just been declared successful and can practice, after an 18-month internship, as lawyers in France. This result is exceptional even compared to long-established, renowned French institutions.

Directed by François-Xavier Lucas, a professor at the Sorbonne Law School and at the Université Euromed de Fès, this program is highly selective. Admitted students are handpicked and selected from several thousand applicants, with one-third Moroccan students, one-third European students, and one-third Sub-Saharan African students. The training is provided by eminent French and Moroccan professors and practitioners, as well as other international contributors. If they withstand this very intensive regimen, students obtain both a French diploma and a Moroccan Master's degree in business law, allowing them to seek admission to the bar in both France and Morocco. The publication of the results of the latest selection of trainee lawyers in France confirms that this vocation is not purely theoretical and that promising careers as lawyers operating in a dual French and Moroccan environment lie ahead for the students who have completed this very demanding curriculum, whose excellence is not a slogan but a successful reality.

The uniqueness of this program lies in its foundation on a close intertwining of academic teaching delivered by the most renowned university scholars in the field and practical application ensured by lawyers from the best international firms. To provide students of this "Sorbonne-Euromed Maroc" program with total immersion in a practitioners' environment, the Université Euromed de Fès also organizes events that have become benchmarks, such as the "Fès Restructuring Days," which bring together international experts in restructuring law each year in Fès. The latest edition, held in May 2025, gathered about 250 participants, including judges, business leaders, public and private institution officials, and political figures from Europe and Africa. Two-thirds of these participants, seeking very high-level training, came from Europe. This training, which is now beginning to internationalize, also took place at the Université Euromed de Fès from November 24 to 26, 2025, for the benefit of over 70 Brazilian professionals from Sao Paulo and Rio.

The next edition of this training will take place on May 21 and 22, 2026. April 2026 will also see the elite of international arbitration gather in Fès, with the most prestigious representatives of this elite field's specialists coming to the Université Euromed de Fès to examine the practice of arbitration in Arab and African countries (https://www.formation-arbitrage-fes.com).

Students obviously derive the greatest benefit from these stimulating international engagements. Constantly exposed to the best specialists in business law who come to them, they are clearly identified in France and Morocco as valuable recruits. The greatest Moroccan practitioners have, moreover, opened the doors of their firms to them and, beyond that, offered their support, with Azzedine Kettani, Hicham Naciri, and Laila Slassi having agreed to sponsor the first three cohorts of the Master's program.

When two millennial university cities, like Fès and Paris, embark on a joint academic project, one can expect success to follow. The result clearly exceeds the hopes of Université Paris 1-Panthéon-Sorbonne.
