Professeur assistant en nanotechnologies et énergie
Prof. Saif Ur Rehman is an accomplished physicist and researcher, currently serving as a Teacher-Researcher at the Euromed University of Fes (UEMF), Morocco. With more than fifteen years of academic and research experience, he stands at the forefront of innovation in nanoscience, nanotechnology, optics, thin films, and renewable energy technologies. His research seamlessly integrates fundamental and applied physics, emphasizing nanomaterials and their transformative applications in solar cells, fuel cells, and advanced battery technologies.
Prof. Rehman earned his Ph.D. in Physics (Nano-Optics and Nanotechnology) from Mohammed V University, Rabat, in collaboration with the Moroccan Foundation for Advanced Sciences, Innovation and Research (MAScIR) in 2013. During his doctoral research at the iNANOTECH-MAScIR Institute, he conducted pioneering studies on nano-optical materials and surface plasmon resonance-based sensing.
Before joining Euromed University, he served for a decade as Associate Professor of Physics at COMSATS University Islamabad, Lahore Campus (2014-2024), where he held several key academic and administrative roles. These include Member of the Admission Committee, Deputy Chief Proctor (Proctorial Board), In-charge of the Applied Physics Laboratory, Convener of the Course Allocation Committee, Convener of the PhD Comprehensive Exam Committee, and Moderator for Physics (Allied Courses) in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences. He also contributed to institutional development as Member of the Academic Committee, DARC (Departmental Academic Regulatory Committee), and CARC (Campus Academic Regulatory Committee). His tenure was marked by research excellence and pedagogical innovation, supervising over 30 graduate theses and publishing more than 30 peer-reviewed articles in leading international journals. His scientific impact has been recognized through research productivity awards and invited keynote lectures at international conferences.
Prof. Rehman serves as a review editor and referee for prestigious journals, including Frontiers in Energy Research, Journal of Molecular Liquids, Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, Applied Physics A, and Optical Materials Express.
His multidisciplinary research spans nano-optics, photovoltaics, SPR spectroscopy, biosensing, and thin-film/ nanomaterials synthesis for renewable energy applications. He received specialized technical training from JEOL Ltd. (Tokyo, Japan) and Angstrom Engineering (Canada) in advanced characterization techniques (PVD, SEM, TEM, XRD, AFM).
Prof. Rehman has cultivated robust international collaborations with leading research institutions, including RMIT University (Australia), Hubei University (China), UET Lahore, NIBGE Faisalabad, IUB Bahawalpur, iThemba LABS and CSIR Labs (South Africa), MAScIR (Morocco), and JEOL Ltd. (Japan), Prof. Saif Ur Rehman continues to advance the frontiers of nanoscience and inspire future generations of physicists and innovators.
