As part of its conference cycle, the Euromed University of Fez welcomed Mrs. Najat Vallaud-Belkacem, former Minister of Women's Rights, then of the City, Youth and Sports and then of National Education, of Higher Education and Research of the French Republic and currently Director General of the international solidarity NGO ONE France, who gave a conference today on the theme “Fake news, fake news and informational disorders: spotting them, fight them.”
This conference-debate, which was moderated by Pr. Hafsa El Bekri, teacher-researcher at UEMF and Co-Director of the Think Tank Research Institute for European, Mediterranean and African Studies (RIEMAS), was an opportunity for our students and for staff members to attend a debate rich in reflections and exchanges.
During this meeting, Ms. Vallaud-Belkacem raised several topics related to the major impact of Fake news on public opinion, the negative consequences on democracy in our societies and the means of combating disinformation and information deregulation.
As a reminder, Ms. Najat Vallaud-Belkacem continues to give, throughout this academic year, a series of courses and seminars for the benefit of our students.
