Prof. Tijani BOUNAHMIDI

Tijani BOUNAHMIDI is a Process Engineering graduate from the Mohammadia School of Engineers in Rabat, class of 1977. In 1983, he earned a doctorate in applied sciences from the University of Liège in "Process Systems Engineering," with a thesis on "real-time computer-aided process engineering."

Since June 2013, he has been working at the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez as a professor and vice-president. He is notably developing a research program on renewable energies, energy efficiency, desalination, green hydrogen, and the applications of digital twins for smart manufacturing. He is currently the vice-president in charge of the University Technology Center, which oversees the Fez Smart Factory ecosystem for innovation in Industry 4.0.

From 1983 to 2019, he taught and developed research activities in Process Systems Engineering at the Mohammadi School of Engineers.

He has contributed to around a hundred publications in indexed international journals and holds a patent.

He has led several contract research projects for industrial clients, particularly in the sugar industry and phosphate processing sectors.

He has carried out several expert assignments on behalf of UNIDO, ISESCO, CRAT, CID, CMPP, AGA-Ingénierie, and ISERF.

Professor Bounahmidi has been a resident member of the Hassan II Academy of Science and Technology since 2014, after having been a corresponding member since 2006.

In 2006, he received the first innovation prize from the Moroccan Technology Diffusion Network.

He served as Vice President of Mohammed V-Agdal University in Rabat from 2005 to 2010.

He was the founder and director of the Mohammadia School of Engineers' Center for Technological Innovation from 2000 to 2006.

He served as a member of the national commission that developed the national research and innovation strategy for 2025 and the 2006-2010 action plan for the national research and innovation system.
