Biography

Professor Othmane Benmoussa joined the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez (UEMF) in January 2019. He currently serves as Vice President in charge of Research, Innovation, and Partnerships at UEMF and as Director of the Euromed Polytechnic School (EPS).

In addition to his academic experience in Switzerland, Professor Benmoussa has accumulated over 15 years of practice in industry and services in Morocco and abroad (Canada), serving as chief of staff, director of strategy, audit and service inspection, director of logistics and transport, airport director, and director of assets and procurement for various public, semi-public, and private organizations.

In addition to his initial civil engineering degree from EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne - Switzerland), Professor Benmoussa also earned a PhD in the management of technology, entrepreneurship, and the management of radical technological projects, also from EPFL. He further holds a postgraduate diploma in transport modeling from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology - USA) and an advanced executive certificate in management, innovation, and technology from MIT's Sloan School of Management.

Professor Benmoussa's research focuses on the modeling, simulation, and optimization of physical and traffic flows. This work employs macro-, meso-, and microscopic transport models, combining discrete choice analysis theory with intelligent learning models. It also integrates mechanisms for the internalization and monetization of externalities within systemic analyses concerning modal shifts and stochastic route choices.
