Biography

Mrs. Wafae BELARBI is a professor of higher education and has been the Director of the Euromed School of Architecture, Design, and Urban Planning at the Euromed University of Fez since 2022. She is an Architect and holds a Ph.D. from the Department of Geography in the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences at Med V University in Rabat.

At Euromed University in Fez, she coordinates the humanities and social sciences stream at the university's doctoral center. She supervises several doctoral theses and is a member of several research teams.

In addition to her administrative responsibilities, she teaches the Architectural and Urban Project Theories and Practices, Urban Sociology, and Architectural and Urban Thought courses at EMADU.

She has also served as a professor since 2012 at the National School of Architecture in Rabat and actively participated, as head of the educational coordination department, in the reform of higher education in architecture in Morocco. She is a member of the doctoral studies center at the ENA in Rabat and has extensive teaching experience at the doctoral school of the National Institute of Planning and Urbanism in Rabat.

Between 2021 and 2024, she served as Vice-President of the National Council of the Order of Architects of Morocco and was Head of the CNOA's scientific commission (training, continuing education, internships, and training engineering for the kingdom's architects). She was also a member of the Architecture Education Commission at the UIA (International Union of Architects).

As a researcher, she works on socio-spatial dynamics in the urban peripheries of countries in the Global South. She has participated in several research programs, including:
