A promise made is a promise kept. On April 2, Donald Trump published his "reciprocal tariffs" announced in February... and so dreaded. To inaugurate what he calls his "declaration of economic independence" and move towards a "golden age for the United States," the 47th president in the country's history imposed an entry duty on his economic partners for each product that would cross American customs.

"Foreign leaders have stolen our jobs, foreign leaders have plundered our industries, and these scavengers have torn our American Dream to shreds. We will produce the cars, boats, chips, planes, minerals, and medicines we need right here, in the United States," he hammered, illustrating the ultra-protectionist policy he has been developing since coming to power.
