Exhibition "A Mathematical Journey through Al-Andalus"

As part of the days dedicated to Andalusian architecture and heritage, organized between May 17 and 20, 2023, by the Cervantes Institute of Fez and the Cultural Service of the Embassy of Spain in Rabat, the exhibition "A Mathematical Walk Through Al-Andalus" was scheduled for May 18.

It highlighted, among others, the Alhambra of Granada, the mosque and synagogue of Cordoba, and the Real Alcázar, the Torre del Oro, the Giralda, and the doors of the Cathedral of Seville. An original and different way to present Andalusian heritage to the public, integrating science, art, and history with the help of technological tools (Exploria Ciencia, 3D Models, Digital Fabrication, and GeoGebra).

Alongside the inauguration of this exhibition, its curator, Professor Álvaro Martínez Sevilla, gave a wonderful lecture on Friday, May 19, at the Euromed University of Fes, on the theme "Mathematics of Andalusian Monuments and Their Historical and Artistic Significance," followed by a round table with the participation of eminent Moroccan and Spanish specialists. Previously, on May 17, the film "The Builders of the Alhambra" was screened in the presence of its director, Isabel Fernández, who led a discussion with the students and professors of the University following the screening.
