Plurality, migration and intercultural policy in the Euro-Mediterranean and African area
Civilization, culture and religion in perceptions between East and West
The Euro-Mediterranean and African space has already been going through critical zones of turbulence for several decades. All sorts of factors lie behind their emergence and frequency: they are climatic, political and economic. They therefore generate a profound imbalance on both sides of this space. This explains in particular the difficulty due to the search for a lasting response to the immigration problem. Hence the exacerbation of racism in many countries, the rise of hatred and the development of abuses linked to money laundering and drugs, which feed the bed of terrorism. So what can we do to tackle these destructive phenomena differently? Could the solution be found in the implementation of intercultural policies? How to design, build and manage them? What relations between North and South can be built in current contexts and in what format, with a view to co-development bringing wealth to the benefit of the people of the region? The answer to these questions will necessarily involve the development of research theses deepening the knowledge of the Euro-Mediterranean and African space, as well as the development of appropriate analysis tools drawn from this very space, and not imposed or transposed.
Targeted candidates with excellent Master's level training in political science must demonstrate a good ability to conduct evaluation studies of existing corpora in the space in question, as well as a wise and intelligent aptitude. to mobilize multidisciplinary methods and put them into practice.
candidates are expected to carry out their research full-time within the structures of EUROMED University.
