Conference on chemistry by Dr. Marie-Aude Hiebel

Conference cycle
Euromed University of Fez Mrs. Marie-Aude Hiebel

Dr. Marie-Aude Hiebel hosted a conference at the Euromed University of Fez, around the theme: "Hypervalent Iodine (III) in Direct Intramolecular NN Bond Formation with Heteroaromatic Amines: Synthesis of Triazapentalene Derivatives".

Summary

NN bond formation can provide a novel approach to various nitrogen-containing heterocycles with many applications. To this end, we found that readily available heteroaromatic amines are suitable substrates to provide an efficient and innovative approach to NN bond formation in the presence of iodine(III) reagent under very mild conditions. This method makes it possible to synthesize nitrogen-rich triazapentalene derivatives exhibiting fluorescent properties, inaccessible with existing approaches.

Biography of Dr. Marie-Aude Hiebel

Marie-Aude Hiebel studied chemistry at the École Supérieure de Chimie de Lyon (CPE Lyon) then obtained a master's degree (2005) and a doctorate (2008) from Claude Bernard Lyon 1 University in organic chemistry under the supervision of Prof. O. Piva. She developed various stereo-controlled accesses to 2,6-disubstituted tetrahydropyrans which were applied to the total synthesis of diospongin A and bistramide A. During a postdoctoral internship in the laboratory of Prof. Molander (UPenn, Philadelphia), she first synthesized an advanced intermediate of nakadomarin A then carried out a methodology project around the chemistry of N-methylated trifluoroborates (synthesis and study in the Suzuki-Myiaura coupling reaction). In 2010, she joined the group of Pr. S. Routier (ICOA, Orléans) where she synthesized poly-nitrogen heterocyclic compounds before being recruited as a lecturer at the University of Orléans. She joined the CHeMBioLITE group (Pr. F. Suzenet and Pr. Em. G. Guillaumet) and works on the development of original organic fluorophores. She is co-author of 30 publications and 2 book chapters and has an h index of 14 (Web Of science Core Collection).
