Practical civil engineering workshops
Educational and Cultural Activities
The practical construction workshops held by the Euromed Polytechnic School (EPS ) in partnership with TGCC on May 13 and 20, 2023 for the benefit of 4th year civil engineering students focused on the progress of operations linked to the construction work. university extension buildings (football pitches, sports hall, Olympic swimming pool, R+7 administrative building, etc.), as well as on major progress relating to:
- Masonry work (classic bricks, agglos, Monomur bricks with insulating capacity);
- Floors (mainly inclined slabs, hollow core slabs, post-tensioned slabs, prefabricated slabs);
- Metal framework (profiles used, implementation process, etc.);
- Drainage system around buildings;
- General organization of site management and elements of technical language.
Various topics were discussed, including:
- Cracking and segregation of concrete;
- Presentation of the articles of DTU 20.1 “Masonry works of small elements – Walls and walls”;
- Insulation and protection techniques;
- Role of a QHSE manager and a works engineer on construction sites.
