The president

The President leads the University, defines its development strategies, and ensures coherence between governance, research, and education.

The University President: guardian of the strategic vision

The President of UEMF serves a four-year term, which may be renewed. In the event of death, incapacity to perform the duties, or when the Orientation, Oversight, and Development Council decides to appoint a new President, the proposal must be submitted for the approval of His Majesty The King, Honorary President of the Euromed University of Fez.

The President is selected from among individuals recognized for their academic and scientific expertise at the international level. They must present a strategic development plan for the University that aligns with the missions assigned to it.

• manages the University and all of its components;
• chairs the meetings of the University Council (UC);
• Represents the University to all administrative bodies, constituted authorities, national or foreign universities, and any third party;
• accepts donations and bequests;
• holds all powers necessary for the management of the University and its components;
• Proposes development projects for the University to the COSD;
• commits the University's expenditures in accordance with the budget approved by the COSD;
• maintains the accounting of expenses incurred and settles the University's expenditures and revenues;
• Proposes the agendas for the General Meeting and the Supervisory Board (Board of Directors) to the Chancellor;
• executes the decisions made by the COSD, or delegates their execution;
• prepares the annual budgets and ensures their execution after they have been approved by the COSD;
• recruits the teaching and research staff of the University, as well as the administrative and technical staff;
• ensures the coordination of activities across the University's various entities, faculties, institutes, departments, units, joint units, partnership entities, and centers.
• conducts audits related to the University's management (financial management, administrative management, and any other aspect related to the University's operations);
• Performs all protective legal actions and represents the University in court;
• ensures the maintenance of discipline within the University.

• Engineer, graduate of the École des Hauts Polymères (EAHP, now ECPM), France;

• DEA: University of Strasbourg (Louis Pasteur), Strasbourg, France;

• Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Louis-Pasteur in collaboration with the University of Illinois at Chicago, USA;

• Postdoctoral fellowship at the École Polytechnique de Montréal, Canada.

Specialization: Polymer Physics, Nanomaterials, and Nanotechnologies.
