Official graduation ceremony in honor of UEMF graduating students

The official graduation ceremony in honor of UEMF graduating students took place this Monday, July 4 in the eco-campus of Euromed University in Fez. More than 700 graduates and 1,800 people took part in this flagship event of the University, a moment full of joy and pride which marks a new chapter in the lives of our laureates.

The ceremony started with the welcome speech of the President of the University, Prof. Mostapha Bousmina, followed by the speech of Mr. Abdellatif Miraoui, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation and HE Patricia Pilar Llombart Cussac Ambassador of the European Union to Morocco.

Taking part in this highlight were HE Armando Barucco, Ambassador of Italy, HE Nicolaos ARGYROS Ambassador of Greece to Morocco, the Mayor of the City of Fez, the Governor of Moulay Yacoub, the President of the University Sidi Mohammed Benabdellah of Fez, The President of the Moulay Smail University of Meknes, Mr. Hicham Guerrouj, double Moroccan Olympic champion as well as a large delegation from Italy as well as  other national and Euro-Mediterranean personalities from the political, academic, cultural world, sporting and socio-economic.

This exceptional moment was punctuated by notes of jazz, played by a troupe coming directly from Italy, the country in the spotlight this year. Other artistic interludes specially concocted by university students also enhanced the event.  

On the sidelines of the graduation ceremony, the Euromed University of Fez held its Board of Directors which is chaired by the Chancellor Mr. Mohammed Kabbaj, former Minister and Advisor to His Majesty the King. 

This year, the board of directors was strengthened by three new eminent members, the former Prime Minister Mr. Driss Jettou, the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mr. Chakib Benmoussa and the Wali, General Directors of Local Authorities, Mr. Khalid Safir .

In addition to the Chancellor, Mr. Mohammed Kabbaj, and the President of the UEMF, Pr. Mostapha Bousmina, this council involves:

  • The Advisor to His Majesty the King, Mr. André Azoulay,
  • The Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation,  
  • The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad,
  • The Minister of Economy and Finance, the Permanent Secretary of the Hassan II Academy of Sciences and Technology, Prof. Omar Fassi-Fehri,
  • The President of the Conference of University Presidents, two former ministers, Messrs. M'hamed Douiri and Taieb Chkili,
  • The Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean, 
  • The former vice-president of the European Parliament, Ms. Rodi Kratza,
  • The former spokesperson for the Élysée, Ms. Michèle Gendreau Massaloux,
