A training seminar by the UEMF and the Mediterranean Foundation for Strategic Studies (FMES) on the issues, risks and opportunities common to both shores of the Mediterranean

The Euromed University of Fez is organizing on its campus, from May 23 to 27, a training seminar organized with the Mediterranean Foundation for Strategic Studies (FMES), on a theme of common interest: “issues, risks and opportunities common to two shores of the Mediterranean.

The objective of this seminar is to address these aspects from five different angles and to provide new strategic and operational recommendations.

  1. “Defense and security” angle: foreign and neighborhood policy and Cybersecurity issues in the Mediterranean;
  2. Environmental angle: environmental issues and SDGs in the Mediterranean;
  3.  Economic angle: regional integration and economic partnership between the two shores of the Mediterranean;
  4. Historical and cultural angle: cultural heritage, Mediterranean Identities and intercultural dialogue;
  5. Societal angle and crossed perspectives: mobility and migratory flows, gender equality.

This involves looking at the academic aspects concerning the 5+5 dialogue which concretizes the concept of “West Mediterranean identity” and which values ​​the exchange and sharing of ideas, between young civilian graduates and students. officers from 5+5 countries. This event will see the participation of experts, specialists from the Euro-Mediterranean region and professors-researchers from the UEMF in Legal and Political Sciences, Human and Social Sciences and Artificial Intelligence who will intervene in the animation of the workshops which promise to be rich in innovative and productive exchanges.

Beyond the exchange that this meeting will allow, the objective of this seminar is to identify avenues for reflection on the possibilities of reconstructing co-development relations between the two shores of the Mediterranean in a different way.
