The third UNESCO World Conference on Higher Education (WHEC2022) is an opportunity to bring together different stakeholders to define and prepare a roadmap for a new era of higher education in response to global issues and challenges. the current era. 

On this occasion, Pr. Maha Gmira took part in a round table discussing the impact and potential of AI in the development of education. The main objective of this round table is to raise the intrinsic relationship between AI and higher education in an era where digital and advanced technologies are omnipresent, to explore the potential of AI in the rise of higher education establishments, and thus define the road map that they must adopt to accelerate their progress and development within the framework of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations and according to the Beijing Consensus on artificial intelligence and education . In this sense, Pr. Maha Gmira underlined the importance of rethinking the model of access to learning new technologies through inclusion and equality of opportunity and gender to offer everyone the possibility to seize the advantages and opportunities offered by AI.

Organized by UNESCO in close collaboration with the Spanish government, the government of the Catalonia region, the city hall and the Regional Authority of Barcelona, ​​and in partnership with GUNi/ACUP (Global University Network for Innovation / Catalan Association of Public Universities), this conference took place in Barcelona, ​​Spain, from May 8 to 20.
