The UEMF rewarded for its gender equality strategy during the 6th edition of the Professional Equality Trophies award ceremony

On Thursday, May 12, 2022 in Rabat, Euromed University of Fez, the only award-winning university, won the certificate of excellence for its Gender Equality Strategy. The UEMF received the best score in each of the ten themes proposed in the Trophy application file.

The Professional Equality Trophy aims to recognize the commitment of institutions and reward the best actions undertaken in terms of gender equality, to promote and share good practices initiated by institutions for the promotion of equality professional and to raise awareness among all economic and social actors of the benefits of establishing professional equality on the performance of institutions.

This 6th edition, organized with the support of the MCA-Morocco Agency as part of the implementation of the “Compact II” cooperation program, financed by the United States government, represented by MCC, saw the participation by Mr. Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills, with the participation of Ms. Malika Laasri, Director General of the Millennium Challenge Account-Morocco Agency (MCA-Morocco) , and Ms. Carrie Monahan, Resident Director of Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC).  

Driven by a strong desire to strengthen its commitments to gender equality and fully committed to the promotion and implementation of a series of inclusive, equitable and ethical measures, the UEMF was recently elected as as the first university in the region for respecting and achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by the Times Higher Education (THE) international ranking. In the same sense, the UEMF is also part of the international consortium made up of eleven French-speaking establishments which work together to achieve gender equality on their campuses.

Representatives of certain embassies and international organizations accredited in Morocco, social partners, representatives of certain national institutions and government departments concerned and associative and media actors also took part in this ceremony.
