About the “Women in Science” chair:

The “Women in Science: AI and Future” chair project was born on May 17, 2021 during the signing session born from the collaboration between the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, ICESCO and Euromed University of Fez.

This is a chair entirely dedicated to the promotion of science and particularly artificial intelligence among girls and women.

The “Women in Science: AI and Futures” Chair aims to counter the problem of female underrepresentation in the field of science through various activities aimed at increasing the recruitment, retention and progression of women in science and particularly in Intelligence. Artificial.

The objective of this Chair is to create an ecosystem of excellence in Artificial Intelligence, to promote and ensure the participation of women researchers in this field, through collaborations with international experts and by training researchers and innovators. .

The research carried out in this Chair will strengthen the role of ICESCO and the EUROMED University of Fez as a unique research center in artificial intelligence and will allow Morocco to assert its technological sovereignty in Artificial Intelligence through its various applications.

Goals :

The “Women in Sciences: AI and Futures” Chair is structured around four main objectives:

1. Build a Talent

Train highly qualified scientists and managers in Artificial Intelligence to meet the growing needs of the market and by consolidating the role of women in the professions of the future.

2.Develop knowledge

Intensify and improve scientific research in AI while ensuring the representation of women.

3. Ensure the transfer

Promote the acquisition of knowledge in AI by organizations and the public, the transfer of technologies to industry and entrepreneurship.

4. Involve the community

Develop a solid network both nationally and internationally in artificial intelligence.

During the first years, the Chair will develop innovation programs in artificial intelligence in the field of health in response to urgent needs such as those raised during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research work will mobilize multidisciplinary consortia to use AI and digital engineering to combat pandemics and strengthen health systems through treatment research, the development of devices for monitoring the evolution of the pandemic, development of technologies to ensure remote patient monitoring and assistance to healthcare staff.

In addition, the Chair will develop cutting-edge research programs in the field of smart cities, industry 4.0, Fin Tech, Agri Tech and Energy Tech through the development of algorithms capable of optimizing decision-making. decision by interaction with an environment. The objective is to develop a collaborative research program and support projects focused on interdisciplinarity.
