The executive master's degree in BIM project management, organized in partnership with the College for Innovation, Management and the Knowledge Economy, CIMES , responds to a demanding and evolving demand in terms of modern management of construction projects. It offers tailored training for senior executives and project managers to help them develop the managerial, organizational and technical skills necessary to lead BIM projects at the process and tool level.

It also emphasizes the changes this brings in the way of building and the productivity gain at all stages of a construction project.
The training is oriented towards a multidisciplinary understanding of virtual construction thanks to the participation of experts from complementary fields: engineers, architects, data managers, construction economists, lawyers, etc. with a strong emphasis on problem solving and collaborative practices that are the cornerstone of multidisciplinarity.

Finally, the training will help not only to master the methodological, instrumental and practical bases of modern project management around BIM, but also to become aware of and master the challenges and issues of digitalization, as well as the necessary developments in skills. and modes of cooperation of the actors, both at the level of managers and at the level of teams.

The objective of the training is to enable participants to develop a systemic approach to the work to be built in order to be able to manage projects as a whole, taking into account the integration of the design, construction and operating around a model digitally modeled in BIM.

The goal remains a coherent structuring of data and control of the different phases of a BIM project considered in its technical, economic, financial, legal and human dimensions.

List of modules

Block 1: Fundamentals (GENERAL BIM)

In this module, the aim will be to analyze the global context of construction practices in relation to the impact of the introduction of digitalization, construction project management and the evolution of regulations, standardizations and their implementation.
The block will clarify the real issues of the paradigm shift linked to the introduction of digitalization in the construction field. It lays the foundations of reflection, its argumentation, its history, its obligations, its regulations, its structure and its standards.
It introduces the implementation base, the elements and roles necessary in relation to the complexity of the project, the size of the team, the budget and the short, medium and long term objectives.

Block 2: Digital modeling and modeling (BIM DIGITAL MODELING & MODELING)

This block covers the tools, rules and methodology for constructing a digital model specifically adapted to the management of a construction project with a BIM methodology.
It also deals with interdisciplinary data, standardization of exchanges, as well as the process of coordination and validation of data between the agents on one side and between the principal and the agents on the other.
It will be a question of understanding all the risks and obligations in a coordinated exchange of data between disciplines, the obligations of each and the establishment of a binding hierarchy.
The module provides analytical mastery of the most relevant structures in the construction of the digital model.

Block 3: Planning, management and organizational processes of implementation (BIM PROJECT MANAGEMENT)

This block deals with the planning of construction projects, the management of costs and methods, as well as the contractualization of responsibilities and the guarantee of quality in study and monitoring of construction.

The following questions will be addressed:

  • What impacts does BIM have on the planning of a construction project?
  • What type of optimization does BIM bring to the realization of a construction project?
  • What monitoring tools enrich the digital model to be as close as possible to the construction status?
  • What room for maneuver during the implementation phase?
  • How to organize standardized data acquisition on site?
  • What digital management for the construction site? What tools? What roles to define?
  • What digital organizational structure for the construction site?

Block 4: Management, operation and maintenance of buildings (BIM EXPLOITATION AND FACILITY MANAGEMENT)

This block deals with the valorization of construction data into value-added digital assets for the management, operation, maintenance, transformation and deconstruction of a building produced using the BIM methodology.
It will be a question of mastering the following elements:

  • Data management for operations;
  • Study of standardized formats such as Cobies;
  • Management of operating needs;
  • Interoperability with CMMS (Computer-Aided Management and Maintenance Software) and GTB (Technical Building Management Software);
  • Systematization of updates of the data used;
  • Personnal management.

An additional sub-section will address technological advances in the management and valorization of BIM data for the marketing and management of real estate assets.

Block 5: Professional project

In this transversal block, it will be a question of validating the knowledge acquired by carrying out a practical project starting in the first block and finalized after a period of individual work.

Prerequisites

Active executives with a higher education diploma of at least bac +3 level and significant experience. Files will be studied on a case-by-case basis by an ad hoc committee.

This training is primarily intended for:

  • Civil engineers, architects and CVSE;
  • Managers of design offices and control offices;
  • Surveyors;
  • Project managers;
  • Operation managers;
  • Construction economists;
  • Project managers, AMO, public and private project owners, developers;
  • Contractors, project managers, work directors of general and total contractors;
  • Operators, operations managers and managers;
  • Facility Managers
  • BIM managers.
Skills to acquire

It is possible to register for only one block (except block 5) and obtain the corresponding certificate. The Executive Master's diploma in BIM is, for its part, delivered only after validation of the 5 blocks.
