2nd edition of Africa Week: UEMF celebrates Africa in a different way!

Specific day

After a successful first edition in 2021, the Euromed University of Fez is organising Africa Week on 24 and 25 May 2023.

This year's eagerly-awaited event coincides with Africa Day and celebrates the dialogue, richness and diversity of our continent through a programme of cultural, scientific, artistic and recreational activities.

Through these events, the Euromed University of Fez continues to play its role as a meeting place for intercultural exchange between the two shores of the Mediterranean, with a natural extension to Sub-Saharan Africa, in perfect harmony with the far-sighted vision of His Majesty King Mohamed VI.

"I wouldn't like us to celebrate Africa for just one week, but for our continent to be anchored in our minds and thoughts. What's more, Africa is endowed with extraordinary cultural and economic diversity, as well as immense natural resources that require the involvement of all stakeholders in order to highlight its riches and promote its heritage", declared Prof. Mostapha Bousmina, President of the Euromed University of Fez, in his opening remarks at the conferences.

This event, which forms part of the University's strategic vision to promote exchange and the values of sharing and coexistence, is an opportunity to communicate and reflect together on the challenges and opportunities facing Africa.

This year's event featured a varied programme, with one day devoted to artistic performances by dance groups from different countries and a screening of the film "The boy who harnessed the wind". This was followed by a second day of musical performances, fashion shows, lectures, round tables, exhibitions and, to round things off in style, an 'African night' performed by UEMF students.

The African Week at the Euromed University of Fez is also an opportunity for discussion and reflection on the challenges and opportunities facing the continent.
