Personalities
EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Josep Borrell, visits UEMF for his second visit to the eco-campus. Welcomed by the President of the University, Pr. Mostapha Bousmina, and by the students of the UEMF, Mr. Josep Borrell was accompanied by a delegation of the EU and Mrs. Patricia Llombart Cussac, Ambassador of the EU in Morocco. This second visit of Mr Borrell to the UEMF shows his willingness to maintain the UEMF-EU partnership but also to meet and exchange with young people in person. He gave a lecture on Europe's strategic responsibility, especially in the current geopolitical context.
Students from all disciplines, and particularly those from the Euromed Institute of Legal and Political Sciences, took a close interest in the subject of this conference. The exchange focused on Morocco-EU cooperation but also on current international issues such as the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and the challenges of the Euro-Mediterranean region.
The meeting ended with a visit to the University's "Research-Innovation" platform and incubator. Mr Borrell expressed his admiration and encouragement for the efforts made to provide students/researchers with high-tech equipment enabling them to participate in the dynamisation of the region and set up innovative projects.
As a reminder, Mr. Josep Borrel visited UEMF in June 2019, during the graduation ceremony, as a guest of honour.
